What is Destination Imagination?
Destination Imagination (DI) is a non-profit, volunteer-led, cause-driven organization. Our purpose is to inspire and equip students to become the next generation of innovators and leaders. Annually, we offer seven new standards-based Challenges in STEM, Improv, Visual Arts, Service Learning, and Early Learning. Each Challenge is open-ended and enables student teams to learn and experience the creative process from imagination to innovation.

What is an Appraiser?
Appraisers experience the excitement and creativity of DI up close and personal. Their job is to award teams every point they are entitled to by their solution presentation. Appraisers may be serve as time keepers, announcers, score technical elements, score theatrical elements. or help with calculating scores. Our Challenge Masters train appraisers in what they will be doing at the tournament.
Qualities of an Appraiser
Has a good sense of humor.
Appreciates creativity and innovation in all its forms.
Enjoys working with children and young adults.
Is comfortable working as a part of a team.
Is committed to being fair and impartial.
Has a positive and friendly attitude.
Appraisers are required to attend a 1/2 training and work the entire tournament day (check the calendar for specific dates and locations). Appraisal teams must be the same throughout the day so Appraisers are NOT able to go and watch another team perform. Parents of team members should NOT serve as appraisers because they will NOT be able to watch their childs team present their solution.
