Youth Protection Policy

Mid-Cities Creativity Destination Imagination Youth Protection Requirements
 
There are four requirements for Team Managers

  2. Share with Team Members' parents the Youth Protection Information for Parents.dihq.box.com/s/a8nig9hsygvj3vo4slnl1t331kxhc1mi
  3. Provide proof of a completed Background Check for the 2019-2020 school year (more information below)
  4. Complete online training (more information below)
 
Background Checks:
 
There are three ways to meet the background check requirements:
  • Team managers who are teachers or district employees can submit their current district ID annually to Mid-Cities Creativity or their DistrictCoordinators. If submitting to Mid-Cities email to spgreer [at] verizon [dot] net.
  • Team managers who have teams in districts that require or provide background checks may submit their clearance documentation from their school district annually to Mid-Cities Creativity or their District Coordinators.This may take the form of a letter from the school or district stating the background check procedures have been followed.
  • Team managers may go through Sterling Volunteers. The team manager will pay the $15.00 fee for this background check. Sterling Volunteers will provide the results of the background check to Texas DI. Anyone needing financial help, should contact Texas DI. To proceed with this process, please email StellaGreer at spgreer [at] verizon [dot] net. Pleaseinclude your full first and last name and your preferred emailaddress. 
 

Training:

  • Once you have purchased your Team Number from the Destination Imaginationwebsite, you will create a log in and add that number to your profile. [https://www.destinationimagination.org--Login--Welcome--Create New Account] Within a few days, you will receive an email from Adobe Captive Prime. The subject will be'Required courses! Welcome to the DI Learning Management System'. Follow these instructions to access all sorts of training that will help you in your new role. Included in these courses is the required course for Youth Protection. Your completion of the course will be automatically recorded. If you do not receive this email, contact Kris Beisel, Director of Training for Destination Imagination 1-888-321-1503.
